Nhell Monsterz suggested I interview Madam who are from Toulouse, France. They recently released their very first CD ‘Thanks For The Noise’ they worked hard getting the CD and now time for a little relaxation and some touring to support their new CD.

Enjoy my interview with Gabbie of Madam.

Punk Globe: My dear friend Nhell suggested I contact you for an interview. You are located in France am I correct?

MADAM : Yay, we’re from Toulouse !

Punk Globe: How long has Madam been together?

MADAM : We started the band in 2018 (each time someone asks me, I have to check our first profile picture on Facebook because I just can’t remember ahah). We met for the band six years ago now! It’s strange, it feels like it was yesterday, and at the same time like if we’re lifelong friends.

Punk Globe: Who is in the band and what do they play or do in the band?

MADAM : I’m Gabbie, guitarist and lead singer of the band. Marine is the bass player, and Anaïs the drummer: they are the “motor” ahah. And they’re both singing too.

Punk Globe: Tell us how you came up with Madam as the band name.

MADAM : a person from the past proposed it to us and we can’t find a better one ahah! Plus, we like the way it looks and the fact that we can read it in both ways. But not upside down, even if we like WADAW too.

Punk Globe: Who are in the bands influences musically?

MADAM : We all have different inspirations and I think this is our strength. I’m most in garage music, huge fan of Thee Oh Sees and Ty Segall. Marine is more in vintage rock n roll, she’s obsessed with The Beatles. And Anaïs is craving for a Foo Fighters gig. But this answer doesn’t help for your question, so I think when we put all that inspiration together to compose for MADAM we’re between The Hives, The White Stripes, and The Arctic Monkeys!

Punk Globe: Tell the readers about your new release and where the readers can get it?

MADAM : On april 12 we releasing our first album “Thanks for the Noise”. We worked so hard on it, it’s at the same time exciting and relaxing to finally release it! It’s available everywhere in CD, vinyl, and tape (on our Bandcamp and online shops), and on streaming platforms!

Punk Globe: Do you tour a lot if so where have you toured?

MADAM : This last two years we toured a lot in France and Europe. After a break from the album recording, we’re back on the road. Honestly, this is the best feeling! And.. we’ll be in the UK for a tour in December.. Stay tuned

Punk Globe: Do you enjoy the music scene in France?

MADAM : The French rock scene is SO cool. Really! Let’s start with Toulouse: so eclectic with bands like Slift, Marell, Marty Went Back, Damantra, and Paddang. I’m in love with our local scene. And then, they’re all these bands that we met on tour and we’re crazy about like Johnnie Carwash, Bandit Bandit, Last Train, The Dynamite Shakers, Psychotic Monks, and so much more. I can’t even talk about all of them.

Punk Globe: This is your very first release. Are you on any comps and how about videos?

MADAM : We released our first single in February, “La Meute”. It’s kind of pretty different than all the songs we wrote before. We’ll be releasing a new video in April..

Punk Globe: Do you have any Internet Addresses you would like to share with the readers to find out more about Madam.

MADAM : We’re on the socials with this name @madamofficiel, our music videos are on our YouTube channel just here: https://www.youtube.com/@madamofficiel

Then you can find our merchandising on our Bandcamp: https://madam.bandcamp.com/

Punk Globe: Any last words for Punk Globe readers?

MADAM : we hope that our new album will please your ears, but if you can, come to our gigs! Live music is what we’re fighting for!
