The Inimitable Carmela Thompson Of the White Trash Debutantes

I first met the beautiful and kind Carmela Thompson when she played (for the first time) with the White Trash Debutantes backing M.D.C. at Bottom of the Hill and the Ivy Room in her native San Francisco.

Her inaugural efforts with W.T.D. completely ROCKED, where she capably anchored the rhythm section with the powerful Eric Borst on drums.  She also played a set with local legends, Class of 77.  In this far-reaching and deeply personal interview, we cover how she discovered the Bass as a young bike messenger, her founding of the influential Short Dogs Grow in 1985 with the amazing Tom Pitts, and her unique and powerful philosophy of punk rock.
