Punk Globe and I are proud to present the digitally restored version of both my films from 1981: “The Non Carol Burnett Show” and “Justice For Jennifer”.

I was lucky enough to have all my films inducted into the Punk Media Research Collection at the Hugh Hefner Moving Image Archive at USC. Dino Everett at the Archive is masterfully transferring and restoring them.

Here’s a brief description of “The Non Carol Burnett Show” and “Justice For Jennifer” for those of you that weren’t present in San Francisco in 1981.

I met Ginger Coyote while filming bands at her Punk Globe parties at Dirk Dirksen’s Fab Mab. I quickly realized that all these people I was meeting had talent beyond the musical. Ginger and I started filming skits revolving around these Punk Rock characters.

The first project was a spoof based on a National Enquirer article about Joyce Estrada and Joyce Dewitt of “Three’s Company”.

We used the format of a tabloid talk show with Ginger playing Joyce Dewitt and Jennifer Blowdryer as Joyce Estrada. Here’s a screenshot.

I included a short comic interview with the band The Red Rockers who also did the musical soundtrack featuring their song “Guns & Revolution”.

At that point Ginger and I decided to do a larger serialized film based on an incident that Jennifer Blowdryer had in the ladies’ room at the Fab Mab she called “Bathroom Attack”. “Justice For Jennifer” was born.
It starts with The Lewd playing at the Fab Mab while the creep Rory Stallion (played delightfully by The Lewd front man J. Sats Beret) comes on to Jennifer in the ladies’ room.

Jo Anne so embraced the role she actually became the character Jo Anne Justice and always appeared in her leather costume in public.

After Rory gets off scot-free Jo Anne Justice and Jennifer Blowdryer take matters into their own hands and abduct him.

In the grand finale Jo Anne Justice, Jennifer Blowdryer, Ginger Coyote and all the women execute the final solution and “CUT HIM”. True justice is served.

I can’t express what a great experience it was working with all these talented people, many of which went on to appear in my subsequent films.

Sincere gratitude to my friends The Lewd for providing the musical soundtrack and theme song “Liberty & Justice”.

Special thanks to Ginger Coyote and Punk Globe for all the support then and now.
