When I first met Tilli at Josie Cotton’s show I was floored by how tall thin and gorgeous she was, We began chatting on Instagram and we became friends. She is not only drop-dead hawt she has a wicked sense of humor and is cool, not at all pretentious.. Just Work It Girl
Punk Globe: Ms. Tilli It is time to catch up with you. So tell us have you been playing any shows lately? I am sorry that I had to miss the Hollywood shows due to my burn.
Tilli: That burn looked so painful… I am happy you are healing! I have mostly been in the laboratory writing, creating, and re-orchestrating everything.
Punk Globe: Do you work with a Booking Agent or are you DIY for music
Tilli :That’s a good question right now because it has been DIY for the longest time but at this point, I am in the process with so many projects it is attracting some very interesting support, so I am no longer DIY!
Punk Globe: Are you currently working with a band?
Tilli: As everything is in flux like I said, I am building a new band and finding new band members in order to make something hot and wonderful. There has to be a certain kind of Alchemy, so it takes a while to find the right players.
Punk Globe: Tell us who is in the band and what they do.
Tilli:I can let you know more of that once I find them ha ha! But it will be hot, hot hot. I’m talking to a few different people
Punk Globe: Tell us some of your musical influences.
Tilli: I have so many musical influences and they go all the way from Little Richard to Beethoven. I heard a lot of rock ‘n’ roll music early on from the floorboard of my teenage aunt’s car. Babysitting was the only way she could get the car so me and my sister and cousins had to stay down so it looked like the car was empty. She and her girlfriend could then drive around waving at all the boys. I heard a lot of radio rock ‘n’ roll from the floorboard of that car. And then later when punk came on the scene, that was a whole different set of energy… It was wild and had something to say. I’m especially fond of The Cramps…
Punk Globe: Do you play any instruments?
Tilli: I play piano mostly these days… I have an incredible old upright grand that my friend Doug Messenger had tuned for me as a gift! I also have a cigfiddle and an autoharp that I like to mess around with for writing.
Punk Globe: What do you think of the music scene in Los Angeles? What venues do you enjoy playing at?
Tilli: The music scene in LA is happening and is no longer localized to one area! It goes everywhere from Hollywood to downtown LA, the valley, and all the way out to Highland Park and beyond. The Redwood pirate bar is where I play often … Eddie Lopez does a great job of keeping it live! Recently I saw some really beautiful shows at unusual venues, such as the Mi alma Gardens on Wilton where they held there.
Punk Globe: Do you have any shows, recordings, videos, or tours planned for the future?
Tilli: I am in the midst of working on a video right now and an EP… I am working with the talented Filmmaker Gilbert Salas and casting some of the players now… looking for a clown haha After that is released I will play out again. I have been recording in the Laboratory with famed producer Eli Sokolow which has been great.
Punk Globe: You do know that I have a driver. Should you need one for a show or a tour? Hahaha!
Tilli: If that is the driver I think it is I am taking a hard pass !!
Ha ha ha although that could be a total hair-raising tour come to think of it.
Punk Globe: Where can people find your releases?
Tilli: You can Google TILLI and stuff comes up… Also @tillimusics on Instagram there are all kinds of links in the bio and many videos on YouTube like TILLI 26FL. And then everything else shows up!
Punk Globe: Tell us about your work as a Model. How did that happen?
Tilli:I was walking down the street one day with my little brother in Florida and this photographer asked me if I would do an ad I said sure and then from there I worked modeling for Disney as a very young teenager… After that, I won a contest, which took me to New York and into the Ford agency. I went on to become one of the first Victoria’s Secret models, and I did a lot of editorial work all over the world… Which gave me more time to study music and art.
Punk Globe: What agency did you work with?
Tilli: I was signed with Eileen Ford in New York and then later on with Johnny Casablanca of Elite, and in Europe, I was with Marilyn agency. I was based in Paris and worked with all the great photographers and fashion designers. Music and Style are so linked together … hey hey Rocknroll. It was while modeling that I got to know a lot of musicians, and would spend time working during the day and going to music shows at night everywhere I could in Europe and in New York.
Punk Globe: Are you currently working as a model? You are tall, thin, and gorgeous.
Tilli: Thank you I’m blushing! I still do some modeling with certain photographers, and until recently, oddly enough, I was back modeling with Disney in their costume department for their live drawing classes. Now it’s mostly all computerized
